The latest version of windows for reviewing avast is fresh and clean, with sections devoted to every tool in the suite. However, the vast amount of white space has caused some features to be buried; the homepage gives you quick shortcuts to run scans or turn on the VPN, for example, and there are some links to some not-very-useful optimization tools for your system, too, but most of the program’s features are tucked away in the Explore tab. The installation process is simple and smooth and you’re not pushed into upgrading, though the initial scan will reveal “advanced issues” that can only be resolved through a premium subscription. This is a serious issue and one that Which? has raised in its 2020 report.
